Senior Project Officer - Sexual Reproductive Health

Today, CARE focuses on empowering particularly marginalised and vulnerable women in Cambodia, including urban women who are marginalised by occupation, rural women who are denied multiple rights, and women and girls from ethnic minorities.

CARE is seeking a qualified national candidate to fill the position of Senior Project Officer-Sexual Reproductive Health, based in Mondul Kiri province with frequent travel to project sites.


Salary Range: $835 - $898

Deadline: COB, 31 March 2022


I- RESPONSIBILITY:

Your major responsibilities will be varied and will include:

  • Develop monthly, quarterly work plans and budget plan that are aligned to the annual project work plans and budget in order to meet the project activity deadlines;

  • Provide high quality training for house parents, teachers, school directors and district education officials about Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) and Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention and other trainings;

  • Provide training to teachers and student councils and teachers on soft skills including leadership, communication, meeting procedure and facilitation skills;

  • Participate in and promote a safe and secure work environment; to foster a safe and secure culture and ensure compliance with CARE Cambodia safety and security policies and procedures;

  • Produce quarterly and semi narrative reports and contribute to overall project reporting.

  • Conduct project activities monitoring including classroom observation, coaching and mentoring at the project target schools and participate in quarterly, mid-term, and annual reflection workshops;

  • Liaise with and regularly debrief with the project team, partners and communities to ensure quality trainings and processes are implemented according to deliverables;

II- SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree from Teacher Training College, National Institute of Education or equivalent and/or minimum 3 years relevant work experience in health or education preferably with an INGO;

  • Proven skills and experience in facilitating training and capacity strengthening including an understanding of adult learning principles;

  • Proven technical knowledge of sexual and reproductive health, and including Gender Based Violence.

  • A willingness to learn about CARE on sexual harassment, gender equality and women’s empowerment activities;

  • Demonstrated open-mindedness on modern social norms and the Rights of the Child;Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;

  • Demonstrated characteristics in honesty, reliability, integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality;

  • Excellent communication skills in Khmer and good oral and written English; and

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office with knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Leave: CARE Cambodia provides staff with paid time off from work for rest and personal time or for other reasons. All full time employees are entitled to 18 days of Annual Leave, 15 days of Sick Leave, 5 days of Special Leave, 3 months Maternity Leave/Adoption Leave, 7 days of Parental Leave/Adoption Leave, Nursing Leave and Study Leave.

  • Public Holiday: CARE Cambodia the mandated public holidays (22) based on the Prakas by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.

  • Time Off In Lieu: CARE Cambodia promotes a healthy work and life balance and does not encourage employees to work outside normal working hours. If those employees have to work during the weekend or public holidays due to requirements, he/she will be entitled to Time off in Lieu.

  • Learning and Development: Continuous improvement through learning and development is a critical aspect of CARE Cambodia’s people focused agenda.

  • Remote Duty Station Allowance: Giving an understanding on some challenges facing by staff that moving to field offices at north eastern provinces, CARE Cambodia provides extra allowance to staff who has no permanent address at filed offices.
