CARE Cambodia has a new Country Director


CARE Cambodia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Sovattha Neou as the organisation’s new Country Director. She will take up her position in July 01, 2021.


Sovattha brings to the position of Country Director extensive experience in both program and organisational development and management with various international organisations, with focus on livelihood enhancement, good governance, and gender equality over the past sixteen years.


As Country Director, Sovattha will oversee CARE International’s Vision 2030 in Cambodia.


Prior to her leadership of CARE international in Cambodia, Sovattha was the Executive Director at WaterSHED and she held a number of program management roles in Transparency International and UN Women. This experience, in addition to several years in a Resource Mobilisation and Monitoring, Evaluation and learning(MEL) role with Oxfam make her a very well rounded leader with experience in multiple management functions. This will be invaluable as she leads CARE International in Cambodia into its next exciting chapter.


Sovattha holds a Master’s degree in Production Chain Management from Van Hall Larenstein University in the Netherlands.
