CARE Cambodia announces appointment of first Cambodian national in the role of Country Director

CARE Cambodia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mot Sana as the organisation’s new Country Director. He will take up his position with CARE in September 2018.

Sana brings to the position of Country Director extensive experience in both program and organisational development and management with various international organisations over the past eighteen years. Sana’s experience includes nine years as Director of Program Implementation with Save the Children and senior roles with Church World Service, World Vision and the Cambodia Agriculture Research Development Institute (CARDI). His experience includes working with multiple donor programs and cross-cultural and diversified teams in international organisations.

Sana has a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the Royal University of Agriculture in Phnom Penh and a Master of Development Management from the Asian School of Development and Cross-Cultural Studies in the Philippines.

Acting Country Director Jan Noorlander says, “The recruitment panel of CARE Australia conducted a thorough selection process, and I am very pleased that a Cambodian candidate was able to compete with very strong international candidates. I am proud that CARE Cambodia’s leadership team will be headed by a Cambodian colleague.”

Jan Noorlander will continue in his usual role of Assistant Country Director for Programs once Sana takes up his post.

CARE Cambodia looks forward to welcoming Sana to the team.
