CARE Cambodia’s work with garment factories featured on Australia’s Channel 9 News

Channel 9 News broadcasted a short piece in January looking at CARE’s Australian-funded work with the garment sector in Cambodia. The segment focused on the karaoke video produced as part of CARE’s ‘Sexual Harassment Stops Here!’ campaign, which was written and performed by garment factory workers.
CARE has been working with HR managers to create a workplace sexual harassment policy which is practical for factories and provides strong protections for their workers. The karaoke song reinforces the message that women have the right to a life free from violence in a fun and appealing way—song lyrics include women’s descriptions of what it means to feel safe and how people can all support each other to stop harassment.
