CARE works in partnership with communities, local organisations and government in Cambodia.
Partnerships are the foundation of CARE’s work. By working with local groups and governments, we develop a deeper understanding of the context and build local capacity and ownership. CARE works with national and international aid organisations and United Nations agencies to maximise the impact of our work.

Local partners
CARE partners with a range of local non-governmental and community-based organisations to implement its programmes. Many of these organisations have strong networks of volunteers within the communities they work with, allowing projects to combine local knowledge with well-established relationships which feature a high level of trust from community members. Equipping socially active community representatives with relevant skills and knowledge is important for ensuring the long term sustainability of CARE’s efforts in Cambodia.
Government partners
CARE works closely with relevant government departments at national and sub-national level to build capacity among department staff, improve institutional mechanisms and promote good governance.
Private sector partners
Some of CARE's projects work within the private sector to help improve the wellbeing of workers. This includes a number of garment factories, where CARE works to improve women's health and to reduce sexual harassment.
